These wedges mount directly to the underside of your existing Tribar mounts converting your horizontal setup into the angled forearm or “Mantis” TT position without the need to change your existing extension poles, add armrest wedges or remove and reroute gear cables etc. These are only compatible with M5 bolting systems but may not fit every M5 system. The wedges are offset in design so have a left and right part. This offset means the wedges will slightly narrow or slightly widen the original mount width when fitted. Visually the wedges will compliment some systems more than others but this should have no bearing on functionality.
Almost anyone with a basic mechanical knowledge can carry out this simple 3 step conversion but if unsure we recommend this task is carried out by a bicycle mechanic.
STEPS 1, 2 and 3
- Undo your Tribar stack bolts, usually accessed from beneath the base bars and remove your Tribar mount. Your extension poles may be left attached.
- Bolt the wedge onto the top of your Tribar stack with your original manufacturer supplied bolts of various lengths to achieve your desired height. We recommend that if a stack brace plate is being used that you mount the wedges directory on top of the brace. Tighten up to 6Nm.
*Note that the wedges may be suitable to sit directly onto your base bars if you require a very low Tribar arrangement.
- Fir your Tribar mount onto the angled face of the wedge using the various bolts and washes supplied. Tighten up to 6Nm
*Note that the longest bolts supplied that do not foul your Tribar mount should be used.*In some cases depending upon which was the wedges are mounted step 3 may need to be carried out before step 2 for ease of Allen Key tool accessibility.*With some systems bolts may require fitting from above as opposed to from beneath.
