Hi, some very positive feedback on the wheels to pass on. Bike splits have all improved and in the triathlons races entered since using the wheels, I have had 3 wins out of 3 with either course records or best bike splits in each. Wheels have been great on descents and climbs and nothing negative to report. Lots of people have asked about the wheels and I have only had positive things to say so far!
Quite simply astonishing! These wheels are the business and if you want to go fast and support business in the north east, this is where your pocket money should be spent. 14 watts less and went 24 seconds faster, over 10 mile TT.
The revolver disc came highly recommended and it has certainly lived up to my expectations. As a lighter rider, handling of a disc wheel in windy conditions has been a worry for me in the past, however the revolver has allayed all these fears. It runs perfectly, is much lighter than a traditional disc and most importantly is super speedy. I didn’t think twice about using it at the Amateur World Championships in Denmark earlier this year where not only was the course very hilly but also subject to high cross winds – those with more traditional disc wheels were frantically switching them! If you are in the market for a disc wheel, then definitely put the revolver disc on your shortlist!
First season using the Revolver disc. Great customer service, comfortable ride and PB after PB at each distance I’ve raced. Fantastic wheel!
Tried a demo Revolver disc towards the end of the 2015 season and after the first 10 mile TT my mind was made up. I ordered one. Very impressed! 20 mins, 38 secs. Never broke 21 minutes before this.
Thank you very much for the wheel, it’s amazing! I can feel the difference. What do you charge for your Revolver clinchers? I’m thinking of selling my Zipp’s I’m so impressed with the disc.
I’ve used these wheels for the last two seasons now. I think mine was the first wheel sold. Wouldn’t risk riding without it. It’s the fastest disc I’ve ever used without a doubt.
At the last minute (I know, very unlike me!) I decided to change my race wheels for the season, I sold my old wheels and my mountain bike, so I could buy some fast wheels! I bought Revolver Wheels Kronostok 450s 40mm front/50mm back, I had a great chat with Harry Walker who is the brains behind Revolver wheels on the phone. He gave me lots of useful advice on which rim size would be best for my weight/height/race distance and race course profile. Harry got me the wheels in time for Slateman, there were awesome, a great purchase. Now I just need to persuade Harry, that he should sponsor me 😉 (everyone loves a cheeky bugger!)
Finally got to give the wheels quick spin yesterday, good work, I’m a happy chappy!!!
I’m really impressed with how smooth the bearings are and how quick the pickup is. This biggest plus is the braking, I never expected to get that level consistency in a carbon wheel set, I’m weirdly looking forward to some rain so I can see what the braking is like in the wet.
First thing I did notice was the comfort and smoothness. I’m used to wide bed rims and 23mm tyres on the road bike but this was a revelation on the TT bike. There are some sections of very poor chip seal surface and a number of cattle grids on that course and I kept checking I was not flatting there were that smooth!
Second thing I noticed was the consistent handling. Once I’d climbed to the course highpoint it was a fast run for 8 mile back down the valley. Fast, twisty and exposed. Handling was spot on, gentle show in cross winds with no snatching (wondering if I could have chanced that 88mm now!). Max speed was just short of 50mph and I had the confidence to stay on the extensions. The braking was also fantastic (race was dry). There was some hard braking sections and no grabbing at all. I thought the pads looked a bit aggressive for carbon compared to my Reynolds Blue and Corima cork but they were very good.
Last revelation was the stiffness of the disc. There was a fag paper clearance at the chain-stays on my Argon 18 E-116 so was a bit nervous as there was a 39×23 climb for over a mile to get back up to the finish leg and even out of the saddle and big power numbers the wheel didn’t budge. No brake rub and no marks from the tire on the frame and it would have been obvious with it being white!
Thanks again. Took me a while to convince myself that I wouldn’t notice the extra 500gm on a SPOCO course but don’t need convincing now. Would recommend your wheels to anyone.
